It is BR-190 and is listed in my Charlton at $10.00 in Unc. but I'm using a 1963 Charlton image
I don't know if they were minted as Specimens or not. I rather doubt it though.

I like this one but with no returns I'm hesitant to bid.

He's got a couple of nice medals I'm bidding on. Whoops, I probably shouldn't have mentioned that... image

Exceptionally nice token! Wouldn't mind having that one myself - just not at that price image

Boz, that is a beauty. I'm one of the underbidders ... so far?

5th edition of Charlton (2003) lists it as Newfoundland - Rutherford, NF-1B(1 or 2), also Breton BR952 and Corteau Co 2NF. Valued at $400 Canadian in AU. This one is the best that I've seen. Just about all that get offered on eBay bring higher than catalogue. This one will close at higher than $400 US!!

Gene - I agree, that is the finest I have seen.

The hanging sheep on this token is very similar in design to a series of Conder tokens from Rochdale in Lancashire. I know that the similarity in design was discussed several years ago in the eBay coin chat room by one of the countries top token experts but since I was not interested in Conder tokens at the time I do not remember what, if any, relationship existed between the two tokens. image

  • That seller has some very nice Provincial cents for sale too. I wish he/she would accept Paypal, though.
