Uploading personal icon

Hi.
Can someone explain how I can put in my own personal icon over my name instead of the ones offered?
I know where to go to change the icon, but I can't get it to take anything except what's offered here.

    it's only available today until this afternoon so do it pretty quickly

    go to profile above^ and scroll down and it will say upload your own icon or something and it will have a browse button

    you have to have the picture saved on your pc and it can't be larger than 100x100 pixels and 10kb and has to be .jpg or .gif so click browse, find it and click it, then click update settings and it will upload it for you

    OK, I've gone to Profile and scrolled down and all I see is "select author icon" , view, and view all. There is absolutely no "browse" option on the profile page. Tried it with 2 different browsers for the last few hours. Am I missing some incremental step?image

    Go all the way down to where it says "Upload your own author icon" and click browse.

    That option seems to be gone now, either that or I can't find it! Oh well, now that I know, I will wait for next month...
