KM#591.14, 7.6490g .9170 gold, AGW .2255 oz. Mintage 830,000 VG $150, F $200, VF $250, XF $375, Unc ---.
There are two versions. One has a dot under the third letter of the monarch's name. Values listed in the 3rd Ed. 18th Century Krause are the same for both versions.
Values for this coin don't appear to vary much, if at all, by mint, or most issue years.
An MS 62 with the eye appeal of that one (especially the reverse) is considerably better than an XF, so the value is definitely what someone is willing to pay, and Krause is pretty irrelevant IMHO.
Edited to add: This thread has a picture of a similar coin with "dot".
Thanks for the help. This one exhibits a slight adjustment mark on both obverse and reverse which is typical for these coins I hear. I think Heritage just had one of these up in one of their recent auctions...at least I recall seeing one in one of their catalogs. I'll try to find the prices realized for it.
No giveaway unfortunately, I am trading this in with some cash to take the sting out of my last Goetz purchase. You may not know it but some of the rarer cast medals go for $800 and up.....
