OK, here's another one I want. 19th-century Krause help please...

Poland under Russian occupation. 10 zlotych, 1 1/2 rubles. 1833. Kaminski 827. Dealer calls it CHVF.

Ridiculously hard coins to find in decent grades, and this one has good eye appeal, even in VF.

  • 18th Century 3rd Ed., p. 947, C#134, 1833 mintage shown as ".127". Mintmaster Nikolay Grachov at the Saint Petersburg Mint. With the horse and rider facing right on the shield in the center of the ring of stars being almost completely gone, it looks like a VG to Fine, which catalog at $20-30. That shield must have had the highest relief, as the rest of the coin has much better detail.

Thanks Roy. I guess I'm going to pass on it, then. Dealer is asking $150.

I agree with your assessment of the devices.
