weak dollar?

could the weak dollar have an effect in graded cards?

i know in the coin world a weak dollar leads to more interest in silver and gold therefore the price of coins increases.

but since cards have no inherent value like precious metals coins do, could it lead to any change at all...?

The weak dollar will hurt you if you are buying cards of European soccer stars.
  • And would raise card prices if there were bigtime European collectors of American sportscards. But since there aren't really, the weak dollar has no real effect on the hobby.

There are bigtime Asian collectors of modern sports cards. This should be very good for the sales prices of cards of Kaz Matsui and the other players entering MLB from Japan this year.
