1975 Topps Baseball

How difficult is the grading on 1975 Topps Baseball ? i have a complete ungraded set that is clean, and i'm considering sending some of the cards in during the special. i went thru the cards once and pulled a group that looked clean and well centered, and then went thru each one with a 10 * magnifying glass and the group dwindled about half. i have however seen other years graded 8 that did'nt look almost perfect. Just curious about the toughness as i don't want to send anything that will grade less than 8 if possible. Thanks Phil

I haven't seen where the standards were any different on corners and centering with the set. Print dots seem to get alot of leeway on this set, however.

pb, I send in a lot of 1975 topps. Your best bet is to submit the stars and then look at them when they come back. That will give you a better idea of what your commons will grade out as.

Be careful of recoloring. It's not as big a problem as it is with 1971's but there are still recolored cards out there, particularly the star cards.
  • Thanks for the input guys, i just sent in 26 1975's on the registry special. i had a larger stack but after looking thru them with the 10 magnifier i reduced the stack a lot. i still see cards on e bay with what looks like a little white showing on a corner that still get 8's. but unless it's a star i don't want to submit them unless they have a real shot at a 9. thanks again Phil
