Could someone please tell me the silver content of silver Jefferson war nickles? Thanks in advance!

    To add a bit to ArtR's comment, the 35% silver content works out to 1.75 grams of silver in each war nickel.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

    Based on silver at $6.50 an ounce, a war nickel, which isn't worn out, contains .37 in silver.
