Something not right with this quarter. It is currently for sale on eBay.
The date looks messed with. Not even the right kind of 1 from what I see. Anyone else think so or am I just seeing things ?

    Yes, the 1 looks fishy, but I don't know the varieties of this coin.

    Could be a repunch?

  • I agree it does look very strange. For a key date, like a 19-D, I would guess a counterfeit would be an added mintmark. But you're right, the first one in 1919 doesn't look right. The rest of the coin has unc details, esp looking at the chain mail on the breast, but for the money that a key like this would command in MS, something is amiss.
