I found this nice PSA9 1974 OPC Bobby Orr #100 on eBay. First think I noticed was the large borders & the bottom corner(s). This card looks like a BGS/BVG graded card...wink! wink!
What do the Hockey collectors think?

the point I am trying to make is we can speculate all we want but in order to tell for sure the edges need to be looked at under magnification.
so in this case I don't know. there are 17 other psa 9 74 opc's and a psa 10 , does anybody have those that we can compare the borders to?
WOW...the Orrs are really bad!!

Seth and Jason Martin(who lives about 15 minutes away from Seth and Mark) are both very well known sheet cutters . Both have cut alot of 74-75 O-pee-chee hockey. Seth is the original owner of the card
It is true that not all O-pee-chee from that era that have smooth borders are sheet cut however that particular issue it is very easy to spot sheet cut cards. And there are alot of them out there from both Seth and Jason Martin

While PSA has hammered most of the sheet cuts since October some have gotten through. The 3 above could of very well been graded prior to October

Sounds like you know alot about the hockey graded market and various dealers.
Please shoot me an email if you can so I can discuss some things with you offline.

i was the high bidder on this card for a short time, but shied away when i noticed the diamond cut. i have many OPC psa 9 hockey cards from the late 1970's, and the rough-cut/clean-cut ratio is about 80-20. some years are better for clean cuts, such as 1976 and '77 (the 74's and 78's are damn near impossible). i wouldnt call these cards sheet-cut, without at least some proof. but i agree, they do look quite suspect....especially that Orr
