I was bidding on coin, and forgot to check it before the time expired.

Why? You may ask...

Because I had friends over last night, and cooked them a spectacular dinner, and forgot completely about the auction.

I was willing to bid up to $350 on this coin! So why didn't I bid my full amount up front? Because in the past, I've had the experience of placing a high early bid, and having it drawn up to it's full amount. So I was going to place a lesser bid, and check the auction in it's last 15 minutes. BUT I FORGOT!!!!!!

GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Believe me, it's happened to a lot of us numerous times. When its happened to me that's about the maddest I've been in a long time, several times.
Use a snipe program to combat the human flaw of forgetfulness.

What he said - I have lost countless bids for the very same reason. The only good news is that another (or the same coin) will caome back around again.

Take comfort that you can't be sure you wouldn't have lost it anyway. The underbidder made a snipe that wasn't high enough to beat the winner's earlier bid, so there is no way to know how high his max bid really was.
