I'm not a seller, but based on what I see stuff go for, I'd have to say, "It depends." imageimage Just like with US coins, some areas may be hot and others not. British material, for example, is pretty hot right now. Mexico had been for a while, but appears to have cooled off somewhat. Of course, some countries have a larger collecting base. There probably aren't as many people collecting coins from the Central African Republic as there are from, say, France. Even so, a spectacular coin like Equatorial Guinea's 'Naked Maja' is always in high demand.

  • I have bought several Canadian and GB coins on eBay and believe me, the sellers got good prices!

  • Definitely "It depends.." is the best answer. I'm shocked at what does well oftentimes. I'm shocked at what gets ZERO interest oftentimes as well. Case in point: I've put an 1874 silver quarter of Canada on ebay six times. It grades barely Good, but the basics are visible, no damage. I've listed it at $1, no reserve, one week listing. Six weeks, NOT A SINGLE BID! Granted it's not a world beater, but I can't believe NOBODY wants a coin like this at a buck!

When dealing in thin markets there is an element of luck involved in selling on eBay. You have to be lucky enough to have your item up when interested bidders are actually looking for it. My own very limited results when selling foreign coins on eBay has been so-so.
    All glory is fleeting.
