he lists a bunch of the same auction all at once (probably through a listing service) and then goes back at his leisure and edits the content to fit what he is selling in it.
this is usually only done on a free listing day or discount situation.
That sucks! These come up in my ebay searches. The complete auction is there - description, scan of card, terms of sale. If I place a bid on this card, I would darn well expect to receive it if I am the high bidder, regardless of the fact that the title of the auction says "do not bid". I wonder how ebay would feel about this?
Instead of wasting time spamming your auctions here, you might do better to take the time and list what you have available correctly. I thought about placing a bid, but it's really not worth the trouble - I know I will never receive the card. I'll most likely avoid your auctions in the future. Thanks for the head's up!
Jeb why so angry i know dave well and can assure you he meant no malice. i dont know why he does this i havent asked him yet but i can assure you it was not with malicious intent, i can only assume it is the only way to force himself to put some cards on ebay. i am sure if you were to bid he would probably just cancel the bid and the auction (since you cant modify an auction that has received a bid even if you cancel said bid) all you would be doing is costing the guy his $.30 listing fee why would you want to do that? i agree its odd, i mean he costs the chance of someone spotting the real auction all those days he doesnt have it listed, but hey i am sure we all do somethings a little differently.
I just want to answer the questions you guys have posed in a semi-coherent fashion: I listed the temp auctions so that I could have them end on Sunday night, and because I wanted them all to end at the same time. I appreciate your concern over my auctions and find it quite interesting that anyone would "take offense" to this. It may also be the case that I haven't decided what I wish to sell. Is that not my choice? As for the comment about 100% feedback, please keep in mind that this statement refers TO MY SELLING FEEDBACK(and not the first auction that I bid on that had a misleading description). I hope that this dispels whatever conspirational or devious undertones you may have perceived from viewing my auctions. As for any reference to "spam:, I find that quite offensive and inflammatory(and, needless to say, COMPLETELY unjustified). I would be happy to answer any non-confrontational questions(and on occasion, even the incitement-seeking type, but not now.... Thanks for your interest, Dave

i guess I 'am actually individually answering the questions. The "do not bid" was created by "selling a similar item", not specifically typed up to create a false impression, I just have been so busy that I wanted to actually kind of push myself to get some stuff up(and have a specific ending time).... I hope this doesn't personally offend you, seriously. Dave
Fair enough. However I do agree that threads such as these belong on the BST board. If you have something really extraordinary, it's OK to have over here, but otherwise, post it there. People do read it.
