Can we see the other side?

  • Either not a British Commonwealth country, or relatively recent, as it is a cent, not a penny. image

It was in an eBay auction - the other side was an indianhead cent obverse

he closed the auction down - got his pictures mixed up

I think it is Netherlands around 1900

  • if that coin had an indian head obverse... holey moley, that would have been neat.

Hmmm....Indian Head reverse, and 1 cent obverse. Perhaps Civil War Token?? image

Probably got the pictures mixed up, because I agree with Tbirde and Kuhli that it's from the Netherlands. By the way, some British Commonwealth coins did indeed use the cent designation.

That's for 100% sure a dutch coin:-) It seem to be a one cent minted by Wilhelmina (1890-1907).

The date is on the other side.

Definitely the Netherlands... I thought there was a reverse change around 1900 on these. I would venture to say it is pre 1900 because the 1878 has the same reverse. I'm sorry I cannot be more specific, but I do not have any reference materials handy at the moment. It is possible that the reverse change I am thinking of transpired in 1912 or so...
