Strange auction item...

Anyone else think there is something goofy about this item?

Yes, clearly someone took a postcard with the older postmark and added the other stuff later... probably even after it was signed. But still...

I'm confused. It's supposedly authenticated by PSA. Was that before the 1939 stamp and date was added? If so, why ruin a nice auto with a fake postmark?

Always looking for 1957 Topps BB in PSA 9!

  • the postmark says 1939 and then the type writting says perfect game in 1965 so that was definitely added later

  • Frank,

I see it the other way.Why ruin a vintage Cooperstown piece with a fairly modern autograph(in terms of the autograph compared to the postcard).I see the value of the autograph but see a devaluation in the value of the postcard as a vintage piece.I think that the postmark is probably authentic. An interesting way to sell an autograph. For someone that does not have much baseball knowledge(Koufax rookie year was 1955),this could be very misleading. Also, the statement about period laminating is misleading. While both items seperate are nice items,I think that together they are shaky at best.

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.
