I was just asked this question by someone on the "Medal Collector's Online" webpage regarding some medals they own. Outside of the fact that these are either Czech or Slovakian I haven't a clue as to what to say. Anyone got any firther information they can give me to forward? Thanks.
BRONZE MEDALS
I've got three bronze medals that I've got no idea what they are. (1) 67mm in dia. On one side there is a large hand with two fingers for victory with six small hands four of them as if they were stabbing a cross and two trying to touch the cross. Reverse has got a man leaning on a pick with 1918 28x 1938 under him with the words MUJ DRAHY NAROD CESKY NESKONA. ON VSECHNY HRUZY SLAVNE PREKONA (2) 60mm in dia. A village with a large cathedral or church above it with the words SLPO.H L. BANSKE MESTO KREMNICA On the reverse buildings with an arch way going into the centre one.(3)68mm in dia. Large clinch fist with the words PRAHA 5 . KVETNA 1945.Reverse a figer of a lady holding a branch in one hand and poles with banners one with the word PRAVDA and another with the word VITEZI with 28x 1945 either side of her legs. It's got a maker's mark on the bottom M.BEUTLER
Can you tell me anything about them ?.

The first medal most probably concerns the loss of the Czech nation due most likely to the capitulation be the West in allowing Hitler to take over. I'm not familiar with the exact dates involved, but on the medal they give the date October 28, 1938. I can translate the first sentence but not the second, as I have no Czech dictionary. "My dear Czech nation fallen."
The second medal seems to mention the name of a company, if I'm not mistaken, and I definitely could be. I thought "SLRO" meant limited liability company, but I don't know what "SLPO" means. Perhaps some other kind of incorporation? I also think they're talking about the city of Kremnica.
The third medal seems to celebrate the victory at the end of WWII and the founding of the communist nation. A date of April 5, 1945 is given, along with the name of the capital city of Prague, and the word "Truth" and another word I don't understand. Also a second date of October 28, 1945 is listed.
That's not much info to go on but it might get us pointed in the right direction.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." -Luke 11:9
"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." -Deut. 6:4-5
"For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; He will save us." -Isaiah 33:22

The '28x' is probably part of a date -- '28 October'; perhaps that's a significant date in Czech history, I don't know. I believe 'KREMNICA' is the town of Chemnitz and 'BANSKE' might mean 'Bank'. 'PRAHA' is 'Prague'.
Come on over ... to The Dark Side!
SLPO.H L. BANSKE MESTO KREMNICA = A Slovakian mine town “Kremnica”. (BANSKE = mine, the digging type.)
PRAHA 5 . KVETNA = Prague, May 5th
PRAVDA VITEZI = Truth wins or truth prevails
