Update on the PSA 8 Bobby Hull RC in Vegas : ALTERED!

Many of you probably remember the fiasco about a month ago where a PSA 8 NQ Bobby Hull RC found its way into my store, and then how I blew the opportunity to get it, yada, yada, yada. Well the card was returned and refunded as being altered in some way, although I don't have all the details. As mentioned, the PSA 9 OPC Gretzky RC that the guy brought in had a crease in it and also appeared to be trimmed or sanded down at the edges, so I had to wonder about the Hull. Like i said, I'm not sure about all of the details, but the card was definately returned as Sports N' More does have it back in their possession. The card certainly looked clean enough to be a PSA 8, and the PSA serial number matched up, but the left edge of the holder appeared to have that white edge you see when a holder is cracked open, although I didn't see any abbrasions in the holder.
When I called PSA the day that it came in I asked if it was possibly a WIWAG, but I was assured that it wasn't because everyone who purchased WIWAG cards was contacted by PSA immediately after they were caught. I'll try to figure out the rest of the details if I can in the next week or so, and I'm not sure about the fate of the Gretzky, although I heard that Sports and More tried to return it to PSA but were refused and then it popped up on ebay for a few hours. There hasn't been this much excitement in Vegas since... Alright, well there's always this much excitement in Vegas, but regardless, I thought yall'd be interested in what's going on. And to think I lost sleep over that card.

The Hull PSA 8 auction was pulled on ebay before it ended. Do you know if the card was sold privately and returned or if the card never really sold at all

I must have missed the earlier thread because I'm confused. Who
originally sold the card and who returned it? Is this Sports n'
More place a reputable dealer, or could they be the ones trying
to "insert" bad cards into PSA holders? Please explain or link to
the old thread, thanks.
This part really shocks me:

I wonder who told you this misinformation. Nothing could be further
from the truth! It was left up to US, the collectors, to call a certain
number and leave a message. It was up to us to figure out if any of
the cards we had were originally from WIWAG. I purchased many WIWAG
cards, but nobody from PSA contacted me. In fact, when I called the
number that PSA provided, I left two messages and nobody called me back.
Since I can't recall exactly which cards I purchased from WIWAG, and PSA
was never able to release serial numbers of suspect cards, I just dropped
it. The 2 cards that I *can* remember buying from WIWAG appear to be
graded properly & the holders are perfect. PSA never even told us what
to look for (or what not to look for) when it came to identifying slabs
or cards that WIWAG altered. Even if WIWAG was able to seal the holders
with no visible "frosting" on the edges they should have told us!
Man, sorry to go off on a tangent, but hearing what that rep at PSA told
you has got me wondering.... WTF???

he has a rep of buying lower graded PSA cards with his other ebay id's, then selling them a few months later as PRO 9's. he's an interesting fellow, with some suspect hobby moves in the past (the "Diamond 1/1" cards he sells on ebay are nothing more than common cards with an aftermarket foil 1/1 stamp)
