i'm not sure if it's fake or not, but u can usually tell if there's white chipping along the border of the card (looks like there may be on the left side of the card where the patch is) or if it looks "too perfect"- i.e., say it spells out "nets" or is 5 colors etc. i don't buy patch cards very often- i've bought 3- all of them were from the prime cuts product and were encased by bgs so i don't think there's much chance of them being fake. i buy many products (basically a box a week) and have pulled many patches- never have i gotten the "unique" patches i see more of on ebay (i.e.,ones w/the fake mlb, nba, nfl logos, ones w/washing instructions, etc.). also, if i recall correctly, awhile back (maybe years- time flies lol), beckett made a notation about "oddball" patches and what products they were in.
also, another obvious but good way to see if a patch is fake is to look at the seller's recent sales and buys- i.e., if he/she buys a lot of game used cards and they happen to match the 'new' cards he/she's listing, you might be suspicious, if he/she lists a lot of "oddball" patches, it's likely more than sheer luck
