how are vending boxes usually packaged?

I saw this one from 1983 on eBay it seems to have a sticker on it as well as some plastic wrap.
Is this the norm? I have seen a bunch and they are all usually not wrapped in any way. I thought they usually just came out of the case with nothing on them to seal them.

Dave...The 83 vendors did not come with that shrink wrap OR that cheesy red sticker...

They do not come like that although some dealers do wrap them. Being a seller you don't have any idea if the guy has searched them and wants to send them back. As the buyer you have no idea if the product has been searched. So welcome to unopened or opened material

I think he put that red sticker on there meaning , you break it you own it. personnally I would not buy anything sight unseen like that unless it was a top unopened dealer. bbckid, bbcexchange. I used to buy good late 70's-80's stuff from bocacards too but not sure if they still do it.

I once bought a 79 vending box that was shrinkwrapped. I assume that the dealer did that themselves (can't remember where I bought it). Anyway, I was a little skeptical, but the box had 2 Ozzie rookies. Both were sharp, but WAY off center. None of the other vending boxes I've bought have had any shrinkwrap.

There is a big dealer at the National that shrink wraps all his vending. I think it's cheapwax or something like that. I would say that if you buy it from a reputable source, the shrink wrap wouldn't make a difference. It's the same as if you trusted the person not to search through an unwrapped box.
