Top shelf stuff! A coin ex Lloyd Roberts is a desireable thing and the BIN price ain't bad. Now, where's that disposable incoming hiding? Gosh, that's right; I disposed of it!image

I hate to be negative, but doesn't it look like a coin which has been dipped to remove heavy toning? (As a result you end up with a coin with a pasty gray color with no luster.)

Steve, that may well be. Perhaps the stuff in the obverse right field is corrosion from something?

I still think the coin looks good.

What you see in the field are haymarks (tin impurities in the alloying). These are quite common on these silver pieces. That aside, it's probably been dipped somewhere as silver doesn't go 300 years without some degree of toning. Nevertheless, it has nice surfaces and a very good strike.
