strange colored 1996d cent

I found this lincoln cent today in some rolls I bought from the bank. Its a 1996d and in pretty good shape but it looks like the color is a golden honey tone.

Anyone have any info on this?

It looks evenly toned- colored all over, plus down at the bottom of the front, it seems a bit thinner that it should be.

This picture is a fair representation of the color, but its more lightly golden colored...like a real light honey color.

    Looks like a brass planchet.
Caused in the planchet plating tank when zinc cores dissolve & contaminate the solution. Zinc + copper = brass.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

Can't see the colors, never got excited about'em. I can't tell a shiny red from a shiny yellow, evidently. I can't tell the difference.
