How To Better Understand
What A Billion Means
The next time you hear a politician use the words "billion" casually, think about whether you want that politician spending your tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into perspective in one of its releases:
A billion seconds ago, it was 1972.
A billion minutes ago, year AD 103 -- The reign of Trajan in Rome but seven decades after the crucifixion of Jesus.
A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
A billion dollars ago was only 4 hours, at the rate Washington spends it.
Regards,
Alan

Now what is a trillion? That would probably help to better understand the close to $6 trillion national debt.
Pretty funny stuff...
There was some trivia on the radio the other day, and the question was "Can you spend a trillion dollars"?? Well.....Can you???
It's roughly $39 million per day, for 67 years!!!!
I know I couldn't do it... (but I know an ex-girlfriend that would come close...LOL...)
Great Post!

Atkins Diet sure does work!
Trivia time...who uttered that famous line?
<< <i>I wonder how many billion cells I lost today? >>
Zero. Sorry, but fat cells shrink when their deposits are needed for energy. They do not go away, hence the common problem of people "putting it all back on."
But good luck with the diet!
Anyway, 1 billion would be 200 million submissions under the registry special, which could build you 250,000 complete 1989 Upper Deck sets!
Or for you vintage collectors, at SMR in straight PSA 9 condition, (293) 1915 Cracker Jack complete sets, (191) 1933 Goudey complete sets, (270) 1952 Topps complete sets, or (121,212) 1970 Kellogg's complete sets!
Currently collecting.....your guess is as good as mine.
(assumes 3mils thickness)
Hey Bernie, a slight correction on your 1970 Kellogg's set number...
Should be 1,333,333 complete sets...11 times your estimate...WOW! . ....
With those kind of quantities...I could use those slabs to build a fine castle!!!..Maybe even a spare guestroom for THEGEMMINTMAN and all his buddies.....
(I might even build another room so the Playball guys can have some fun too..LOL...)
Best

Don't fret though. If you want to lose cells, try hard liquor.
Question - If you had a billion dollars to spend on cards, what would you buy?
Answer - Everything!
Remember Carl Sagan's "billions and billions"?
