Rising Gold Prices & Effect on Coin Prices

David,

In light of the climbing gold prices what do you see in the future of gold coins. I've read there's been nice movement in pre 1933 gold, but haven't seen any noticable price incease in bullion and modern commemorative gold. I've heard some say that modern gold was purchased at a lower sopt price, therfore no increase should be seen. If that is true, then why the very positive "old" gold prices are increasing, the base price is much lower. Bullion looks like a good buy now. Thanks for your insight. Tom Gilliams

Rising gold prices have a positive effect on all gold coins. Certain areas of the market respond at different times. For example, until recently, pre 1916 proof gold hadn't done much, but now those coins are starting to move. It's all good!
