So, when do the proof silver eagles become available? ...

I've never paid attention to the new mint stuff, but family members are now interested (and me too). I see the BUs are available.

Thanks you all - Jeff (I know this won't be the hot topic of the day!)

    Usually late June, early July.

Edit: Or, that might be proof sets and maybe the Eagles are May.

If you are talking about the modern ones, they've been available since 1986. Normally when one thinks of eagles, they think of $10 gold pieces. I have a friend who knows a distant cousin who has a neighbor who has seen one of the new silver eagles. They are minted by the same government that made the earlier gold eagles.

  • just checked the US Mint website and they just say "in the future "
Also discovered the Mint does not sell uncirculated Silver Eagles,
due to "fluctuating prices" they can only be purchased from coin dealers.
  • Checking my records, in 2003 I purchased my proofs on May 14, in 2002 on June 6 and in 2001 on April 19. image
  • Tom, I feel your pain, trust me.

I ordered 4 subscriptions for the proofs, received a conf or or by email & the day after another notice that they had shipped!!!! After drying myself off & realized I made a minor error in my order I called, straightened out my mess and got an apology from the rep for the confusing email; They normally get shipped from May-June....For what its worth....
