How does NGC process submissions?

Here are the steps NGC coins go through on a 10 day turnaround:

1. Package opened, coins are sent to "fingerprinting" dept. (3 days)

2. Coins are sent from fingerprinting to the "sit on a shelf" dept. (9 days)

3. Coins are then sent to the "sit on another shelf" dept. (5 days)

4. Coins go to the "sit next to graders coffee mug" dept. (5 days)

5. Coins are lost for several days.

6. When found, coin must pass steps 3 and 4 again (10 days)

7. Coins are graded (15 seconds)

8. Coins sent to QC (3 seconds)

9. Coins slabbed (4 days)

10. Coins sent to shipping and lost again (7 days)

11. Coins are found and sit on a shelf while NGC send e-mail saying "rates have gone up, please send more money." (6 days)

12. Coins are mailed back to owner. (4 days)

13. Owner opens package and thinks to himself "I don't remember sending anything to NGC."
