Huge Turnaround Times

If PCGS has such a back-log and long turnaround times, then why doesn't the company invest more money back into itself to buy more equipment, hire more employees, etc. to bring down the back-log? If you're current set-up can't handle the volume you are getting, doesn't it make since to upgrade? Of course, I understand there could be financial restrictions to doing this, but it seems that you are getting enough sales in, that this idea wouldn't be to out there... Thank you for your answer

We have enough equipment and enough processing staff. We do have a shortage of graders. It's not as simple as hiring other staff members. The number of people who can grade accurately and consistently enough to be PCGS graders is very small. We have added some graders recently and things seemed to under control, but then we were jolted by another, even larger increase in submissions.
We'll work on it, but framkly, as long as the market keeps getting hotter and hotter it's going to be a problem.
