MS 1955 Proof set missing seal? help

I have several 1955 flat-pack proof sets listed on EBAY. Someone e-mailed me back to ask why the mint seal was missing on a couple of them. (I don't know how to post a link, but the listing number on one is #2214995475). They ARE original mint-sealed sets. Has anyone heard of this before?

In the lower right, there is typically a seal of the US mint placed in that large empty area. Here is an example. Link (ugly coins, too, in this auction)

My gosh, a mint error with no seal ... time to hype the set for what it doesn't have, rather than what it does! Seriously, it is curious it does not have one ... an obvious mint error minus any cut on the compartment cello and apparent removal of the seal ...
