Sellers using CU Prices for eBay auctions

A lot of sellers on eBay reference the CU Prices when listing coins graded by other 3rd tier services.

For example this auction has listed over $100k in CU Prices, but consists of 45 PCI slabs, 2 PCGS and 1 NGC. (It's also a no return "mystery lot" but that's another story)

My question to you is even though the PCGS Price guide refers to "properly graded" coins do you think PCGS could somehow strengthen that statement with some disclaimer about 3rd tier services during your "revamping" of the price guide?

I've seen plenty of coins sold on eBay that showed CU prices for overgraded ACG,PCI,NTC etc. to innocents who pay a lot of money for $10 coins. I was wondering if there is there anything PCGS can do to help prevent this practice because I think it hurts the hobby overall.

    Relayer...

Thanks for the heads up. This is pretty interesting wouldn't you say. I guess we need to just come flat out and say it's a price guide for PCGS coins.

Thanks again. This is a mind blower.
