Milwaukee Braves Pennant Question

I have an old Milwaukee Braves Pennant that states "National League Champions".

However, there is no date on it.

I also have another Milwaukee Braves pennant which says "National League Champions 1958"

I would like to determine the year of the undated pennant.

Both pennants list the team rosters.

The following players are on the 1958 pennant but NOT on the undated pennant.

Koppe
Roach
Roselle

My question is, what is the date of the undated pennant??

Players who are listed on the undated pennant are:

Aaron, Spahn, Logan, Adcck, Willey, Buhl, Rice, Bruton, Mathews, Pafko, Conley, Crandall, Covington, Jay, Haney, Burdette, Schoendiest, Rush, Trwbridge, Wise, Torre, Hanebrink, Mantilla, McMahon, Pizarro, Robinson.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Ricardo

The Braves also won the pennant (and the World Series in '57), so your pennant can be from either year.
If it was sold during the world series on either year, then NL Champs would be correct. If it was manufactured after the series, then it pinpoints it to 1958...jay
  • I would say your pennant was issued in either 1958 or 1959. Bob Rush did not play for Milwaukee until 1958, so his name on the undated pennant precludes it being from 1957. As Jay said, if issued during the World Series, then it's 1958; otherwise, it would have been issued the following year to commemorate the prior year's championship team.
