Image stolen from this auction.

So, I eMail this slimeball asking if the coin pictured is the actual coin the winning bidder will receive. He responds that, yes it is.

I'm pretty sure that response crosses the line from "borrowing" images in to fraud.

Anyway, just a warning for anyone looking at SMS Kennedys.

Here's a side-by-side with the seller's image lightened. The "dust" prints on the coin match perfectly. They're the same coin.

Host them on your server... if you don't have any bids, you can rename your image, then make the stolen image no so nice

But no, there is no way to prevent the copying of an image...

you would think that people, if they are going to steal photos, would at least have the brains to use photoshop or something to take off the identifying dust marks and scratches. talk about lazy!

Hehehe.........kinda like fingerprints. Guess we'll have to refer to Russ as "Sherlock" Russ from now on! Personally, i don't have the time to delve into such things.......too busy trying to make a living and make ends meet. (especially since i've become recently un-employed! .....long story....)

.......i've had some photos used before, and it stinks when it happens. Sometimes it's an outright fraud, but most times i think it's just laziness on the ebayer's part. Maybe they just don't have a camera even.........but don't lie about it to a direct inquiry! Sounds like a con when that happens.

Some of these guys are just blatant.

Here is one where I was a bidder. A good freind tipped me off before I got burned but Ebay didn't have a chance to pull the auction.

Some eBay sellers are very consistent in their image presentation. mnmcoin is one, jwcameo is another. Since both list coins I'm generally looking for, it's pretty easy to recognize one of their images when some toad steals it.

Here's another example.

The image in that auction is a jwcameo coin. That seller also lied when I contacted him, but he was smart enough to wait until the coin no longer showed in searches.
