I have recently begun my own 55' 'Horizontal Challenge'. I was hoping to flush out some of our resident 55T experts to talk about nuances, strengthes & weaknesses of this set.
I am building this in PSa 6+ hoping to get a good chunk of the commons and minor stars in 7 grade.
Are the high numbers inherently tougher to acquire? What precipitated the shortage on those originally? Aside from the big bucks needed to acquire the stars are there any particular commons that are harder to find or harder to acquire?
Any general overview of the set would be useful, informative and entertaining.

Basilone's analysis is here.
a vintage card publication that #3 Art Fowler is tough to find
centered & sharp. PSA 7 shouldn't be too tough, though.
3 ART FOWLER 1 1 16 21 22 0 11 1 0 0 0 76
22 PSA 7s and 11 PSA 8s
The lowest pop for an 8 in the set.
Thanks for the pop info!
I no longer have the spreadsheet on the web..but if you have excel...feel free to email me and I will shoot you over the spreadsheet.

aka "jerster"
ebay. I'm doing searches on "1955 Topps PSA" all the time
for my All-American set, and usually I'll get 3 pages of results.
Right now ebay has 9 pages of listings under that title.
Nice pick-up on the Koufax, onegaucho. A true classic!
