Experiment - shipping raw cards

Yesterday morning I ran out of bubble mailers.I wanted to get to the Post
Office before they closed by noon, but wanted to include Creeperkat's raw card
in this PO run.
Then I looked over at a small pile of those AOL tin cases that usually just wind up in the trash
eventually. You know those useless AOL user discs that come in a plastic holder or tin you get
in the mail all the time?I took the CD out and looked to see if the card saver would fit and it fit just fine.
Threw some packing material in,taped it shut and it was all set to go.And it only cost $1.38 to ship a raw card safely.
What else other than Bubble mailers,PSA boxes and envelopes have you used to ship?

I think this is a neat idea. I'll let you know how it works out.
Rob,
I would like to make a small suggestion.Include an address inside the AOL container just in case the outside address becomes unreadable. The post office will open the package to see if they can determine where it goes. This will allow them to get your cards to the proper destination.

This is good advise on all USPS shipments.
Next time I'll stick a label inside.
I took one of those Priority Address labels and cut off the top part which was stuck on the front. The address on the back wasn't mine so the clerk at the counter covered it up and we put my return address on that sticker.

The only problem I encountered was that whoever mounted the card used tape on two sides of the rear of the card. It was clear that pulling the tape off would remove some of the back of the card, so I cut away as much of it as I could. But I'm worried that if I go too close, PSA will think it has been trimmed. I know that with signed cards, an authentic signature takes priority over the physical condition of the card, but I'm wondering whether I can expect any better than a PSA 1 with some tape still stuck to the back of the card. Any similar experiences?

card that had tape on the front
and still shows tape marks where
it was removed, and I got a PSA 3
so it may not be as bad as you think.
You can slip the address label into the plastic cover and tape it up. I think it'll be fine.
Got the card today. I would say it was a great success. Not a ding or a dent. Thanks for the card.
Glad your happy with it.
