Went to the Texas Coin Show in Grapevine today. Only got to stay about 3 hours but it was fun (any time at a show is fun!).
Bought 3 Britannias - '99, '00 and '01 (gotta love those coins!)
Also got a couple of Jersey coppers - a cherry 1977 pence and a cherry 5 shillings.
The best tho was the Jersey 'Silver Wedding' silver proof set from 1972. All 3 of the coins (2 pounds, 1 pound and 50 pence) have the most beautiful toning that I have seen on silver! The 2 pounder has a light golden tone over most of the reverse with splashes of red and green, the one pounder has a red rim shading to golden in the center and the 50 pence has target toning going from red to green to golden in the center!
Sorry no pics - I have ordered a digi-cam and when it gets here I will post some pics of these beautiful coins!
I also cherried some liteside stuff, but I will spare you all the details on that stuff!
All in all, it was a good show for me. Didn't see anyone that I recognized (besides a few dealers), but I still enjoyed it!
