Finished!

Earlier this week I completed my first 8 and higher PSA set - 1976 Kellogg's (I'm quite surprised that this one the first of my too many sets completed) - and I'd like to thank King Kellogg (Larry) for helping me reach the finish line.
Hats off to KK!

    Rob,

Congratulations on finishing a set in PSA 8 or better. That's a tough task no matter what set you are working on, vintage or modern. Someday I'll be able to say that I've finished one (I came close with the 1970 Topps set before it mysteriously disappeared).

I'm pretty sure the Willie Stargell Basic set will be my first - I need 1 card - 1982 Fleer #499 in PSA 9. You'd think that would be one of the easier ones, considering it's a POP 9 in PSA 9. image

Oh well, congratulations again and I look forward to seeing you continually active on the Stargell sets.

    JEB.

    Hey Rob...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I know you've been working hard on that set, and to see you at 100% is fantastic.

I see THEGEMMINTMAN even brought out the Kool-Aid Rocker to celebrate!!

Three cheers for you and thanks for the kind words...

The Kool Aid rocker has been even more reclusive than his big fan Zardoz lately- both seemed to make almost hourly appearences last year, but this year it would seem you'd be more likely to see their pictures on a milk carton than the pages of this board. Has the K Kult died out, drunken its own potent elixir, or been driven off by Davillilo's denial of vintage status?

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

  • Griffins, the K-Klub is alive and well!

The Kelloggometer clearly indicates that the number of Kellogg's Kollectors is growing exponentially...

Please be kind to me. Even though I'm now a former postal employee, I'm still capable of snapping at any time.

Good job! How much cereal did you have to eat to get all the cards?
  • Rob, what other K sets do you collect? I know you've been doing the '70 for a while.
  • First off, thanks for all the kind words, and esp the much sought after K-Man salute.
I only wish the good folks in Battle Creek continued their baseball card packing as the holidays have created some odd sugar fix in this way past post-adolescent and boxes of Frosted Flakes, Sugar Smacks and Apple Jacks have all met untimely ends in this apartment over the past two weeks, yielding only Thing 1s and Thing 2s which I'm pretty sure cannot be graded.

I've tried (pretty unsuccessfully) to curb my graded set appetites and have limited my Kellogg's quests to Pirates and the 1970, 1973 and 1976 sets. The '76 is done (except for a possible upgrade or two), the '73 needs two 7s replaced, and my '70 holes are the same holes that most face - Kranepool, Rose, Maloney, Brooks and Ernie.

    All best -

    Rob
