Brazilian coins, anyone?

Bemvindo, companheiros!

I´m down here in Brazil, enjoying a very pleasant surprise vacation organized by my wife and was planning to do some coin-buying. I will be happy to pick up some for other darksiders if they´re interested -- just post or PM with requests. Of course, there will also be a suitable giveaway later.

Note to Dimitri -- sorry, but new security rules say I can´t gift-wrap and mail Brazilian women. imageimage

Are you able to get current proof or mint sets?

Brazil doesn´t make proof or mint sets, but I can get mint examples of any current coin and any of the proof commems they might currently have on sale. The only coins Brazil currently makes in proof (that I know of) are commemoratives.

Here´s a link to what they have (it´s in Portuguese): Brazilian Central Bank
  • I presume you mean you can easily only get current coins (1994+). The bi-metal 1 Real coins are nice. I could use the 10 centavos FAO commemorative of 1995, featuring the hand holding a seedling if you run across one. I need a few other pre '94 coins that might only be found at coin shops but I can wait until they turn up through other channels.

These are cool. Also what about a put together mint set. You know one of each denomination?

Brad -- the FAO coins have long since sold out, sorry.

What I can do for anyone who is interested is put together some current mint sets (1c to 1 real) as Bill suggested. Those 1 real coins are nice. image

That works for me. Let me know how much you need and how I can pay you.

Does Brazil have a circulating bi-metal coin? I collect circulating bi-metal coins.

And some very nice ones too. I've already received a great looking freebie from Chuck but I wouldn't mind buying different designs (like the one cosmic posted) or an entire mint set. That's my only choice left anyway image Hello to Brazil and Flavia from me !image

Okay, I'm back and I've got a few put-together mint sets and bimetallic reals for those who wanted them. PM with addresses and I'll send them along. image

Missed it by two days -- I arrived on the 31st and they started January 2nd. But I was at the airport when they arrested the American Airlines pilot who made the obscene gesture when he was being photographed. image
