    I'll try to get the story behind it for you.....
  • No story is necessary, Goetz clearly travelled forward in time to the 1960s and experimented with hallucenogenic drugs and returned to the 1920s the create this piece.

    It is an unusual reverse, especially for Goetz in that it is whimsical. The central device is the Count's coat of arms. Someone of his degree of peerage would also typically have the arms displayed with what are known as "supporters" flanking the heraldic shield. Typically these are lions, unicorns, etc., but Goetz has supplanted whatever were the Count's official supporters with a boy and girl holding birthday balloons.

    Actually, though, Zeppelin wasn't really the inventor -- he simply bought the rights from the widow of the real inventor, David Schwarz. I believe I posted a thread on the story behind the Zeppelin. Here's the real inventor:

    Thanks for the info on the reverse. You are correct about the inventor, I was writing, verbatum, what Kienast wrote.
