Who's going to the FUN show?

CocoinutCocoinut Posts: 2,512 ✭✭✭✭✭
I'm leaving for Orlando this Sunday, and will be there until next Sunday. There's another thread where the rainbow Roosie and Merc collectors are going to get together at the Peabody for breakfast at 9 a.m. Friday. Are there any non-rainbow collectors of any series that would like to get together? Not to crash the rainbow collectors' party, but maybe anyone who wants to meet other board members/Registry participants could meet there as well. We could break up into groups of similar interests, or just BS about what we've found, or are looking for. It would be good to put some faces with the names we see here.

Of course, actually buying anything to eat is contingent on having money left after the auctions and the first day of the show. image

Any takers?

  • I know it sounds crazy, but I just bought my plane ticket tonight. I will only be in town for the Lincoln cent lots in the Heritage auction. I am flying in Wednesday night, viewing lots Thursday morning and the auction begins at 1:00 P.M. I leave Friday morning. Not sure when I will find time to meet forum members, but would love to do so. I meet Barberlover, Fudude and Sinin1 at the MOON show this fall and had a good time. Let's see what others reply.

I'll be there from Wednesday thur Saturday morning. Everyones welcome to join us at Breakfast
on Friday Morn. at 9:00am at the Peabody. Just look for a short ugly guy with a beard (that would be me) sitting
next to a shorter uglier guy with glasses (that would be rainbowroosie). image

All are welcome and it sure would be nice putting a face to all the handles here on the board.

    Onlyroosies,

I'll be happy to join you. I just hope breakfast is more reasonable in price than the rooms at the Peabody. When I checked 2 months ago , the best they could do was $1578 for a week! Guess where I'm not staying?image

Jim I will not be there ....damn it. I do expect a complete report from you on the show and for sure a report on the three Merc Sets that will be on display.

    Pleeeaaaasssseee.

Hey let me know if those two Roosie guys are really Short and Ugly. If so that would be worth the price of admission or maybe even breakfast. image

    Have a Great Time.

    Ken,

It'll be a full-time job for BJ or Carol (or whoever) to keep the cases holding those Merc sets clean after people have drooled all over them. Maybe I'll take my camera to the breakfast meeting, and if the others don't object, I'll get some pictures of them. Some pictures of the bourse floor would be good, too. They might persuade more Board members to save their nickels and make the trek to Orlando in 2005. Last year's FUN show rivaled any of the ANA shows I've been to.

Onlyroosies - I'll be the tall, handsome guy. image Well, fairly tall, anyway (5'11"), with a newly-grown salt and pepper 'stache and goatee, and probably carrying a camera.

  • David,
C'mon, you're not coming to the Lincoln cent part of the auction? Just for old time sake? I thought I would get to meet you, but I'm afraid that I'll miss you as I fly out Friday around noon.
  • My wife and I will be at the show Thursday and Friday, for sure. We are in Daytona Beach for month of nicer weather than we get in Ohio.image Hope to meet as many forum members as possible.image

    Nick,
I know you are bringing some exceedingly high grade plastic with you ---- but, would you please bring at least one roosie that has some "eye appeal" not just "plastic appeal."imageimageimageimage

I will be there for the auctions Wed night and the show all day Thursday.
  • I will be at the show each day through Sat. afternoon. I cannot make the Fri. morn breakfast due to working at the Spectrum table at the show. If anyone else wants to have dinner, or there is one in the works already, let me know and I would like to join the group and meet whoever is around at the show. I hope everyone has a great time, and finds everthing they are looking for. It should be one of the best shows of the year! If anyone has PCGS or NGC coins to sell at the show, stop by and see me, or drop me a PM. We will be active buyers of nice eye appealing coins. Dale Larsen

I'm not going this year so the "whoever" helping BJ this year will be none other than Gayle.

I hope you all have fun!
