Buffalo experts: 1916/16 Buffalo diagnostics?

I just read this somewhere here, but can't find it again. image

Is it possible to identify a 1916/16 Buffalo that has no date? Any diagnostic die marks etc. to look for when you don't have the date?

    IIRC, there is strong doubling on the feathers which is still visible even when the date is gone. Whether it would be slabbed by anyone, I don't know.

    New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
