I got this in a mint set yesterday and I thought it looked pretty nice. I have already asked the opinion of the two top Franklin people here on the forum but I thought it would nice to know what others thought as wellimage. mike

Looka like MS65 from the pix, not really worth slabbing in this market, as these days you have to practically give away any Frankie that doesn't have FBL, and/or great toning.

BTW- highly unusual to find a mint set coin from that era that is noted more heavily toned. But sometimes the D-boards can come that way. But if the P and S boards are this bright, I would be very suspect of the sets originality.

MS65...maybe 66. Can't tell from the picture if it would go FBL or not.

Since it's a Frankie, I'll have to say AU58!!!!image I'm wondering what that is just to the upper left of Pass And Stow? Other wise MS64-65 or AU58!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

I'd say maybe ms65 to 66 it's a good looking coin but I have wonder about what Marty said. I can't make out what that mark is to the left of pass and stow. Also I see what might be a few small hits at the base of the bell and the bell lines. Outside of that it a very nice looking Frankieimage

MS-65. Bell lines don't appear full. Might go MS-64.

        What's pass and stow?

Pass and stow is what is written on the liberty bell. If you look just above the top part of the crack in the liberty bell you'll see the words "pass and stow" What makes a good Frankie besides FBL is also being able to see the words "pass and stow" clearlyimage

I would submit the coin. My opinion from the scan and combined with what you said is MS65 FBL. Good luck

that tick on the lines is concerning to me, but I realize this is a blown up image making it seem much worse then what it is....

send it in economy hepcat, what have you got to lose, I've seen and owned many FBL Frankies with this type of hit on the lines...

I thought about economy but If it's at 50 working days right now that makes it 75 days with weekends and Holiday's not to mention show delays. If I send them in now do you think I would get them back in two months? mike image

i'd go economy, that way if this one doesn't go FBL you won't be out much.....

but again, I realize the hit it has on the lines, however, it still may FBL......

I speak from much experience with submitting Franklins........

MS 65, soooooooooooo close to FBL, BUT, no cigar.

                Nice coin though.

Without looking at any other responses - I say MS66. Nice coin - very clean and looks better than my 65's.
