I need some advice from you registry nerds...

It's my first step into this strange and wonderful land.
Andy Lustig (MrEureka) challenged me to try the Edward VII Sovereigns (gold Sovereigns minted by the UK from 1902 to 1910 for you litesiders). They are very difficult to find in grades higher than EF. Do a google search - I dare you. I've contacted a few major dealers that offer raw coins, and I bought one today on approval. I'm fairly good at grading the reverse of these coins (George slaying the dragon), as I have several Australian sovereigns slabbed by PCGS and NGC that have the identical devices. However, I'm not so good at grading George the Seventh's portrait.
I imagine most of the coins I acquire in this series will be raw, and will have to be submitted.
So far, only one collector has registered his coins in this category, and he only has one coin.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

For starters...change your thread title. "I need some advice from you registry nerds" isn't gonna get too much info for you.

As there are few participants in that set you should be in no rush. So it makes sense to buy the best you can now rather than just filling holes and waiting to upgrade later. After all you will be in first place shortly so you can be 1'st and patient at the same time.
