A few new Ikes...Opinion of grade?

DHeathDHeath Posts: 8,472 ✭✭✭
The images do not capture the coin's luster, as they were taken using room lighting to better reveal the surfaces. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nice coins, very few contact marks, reasonably strong strikes.

I hate grading by pics, but I'll say 64-65.

66 a bit high for me. I'd like to see more hair detail, but again, that might be the pics.

That looks like a nice group of coins. I'm thinking 65 to 66, but they are tough on Ikes, and it seems the grades over 65 are hard to come by.

P.S. Baseball, did you say "varying degrees of 66"?

You mean like 66.1, 66.2, and the coveted 66.48372?

I would suggest that all of them are in the 65 range...

Usual caveats about photo grading but from what I can see...

Coin 1 - MS65 (slightly weak obv strike, but quite clean)
Coin 2 - MS65 (good strike, minimal marks)
Coin 3 - MS64 (slightly weak obv strike, hit on lip which is a focal point)

By the way, looks like a start of a print on reverse of Coin 2 at 12:00, get that puppy off now if you can.

Ooh... just saw your other thread with a photo showing the luster on one of the coins you purchased recently... if that's the luster on these then my grades are conservative.
