Many Many Thanks to Michael (Fratlaw)
The mail just arrived a couple hours ago, and with it came my new toy. A new (well actually a used) digital camera. Thanks Fratlaw.
These are a few of my first pics with it.
I had to throw in the pic of my dog it was the first picture I took with it.
The second one was of a 1972 IKE, The pic came out with a real red tint to it. But I've been reading alot of your guy's posts lately about taking digital pics, I seem to remember people say you may have to mess with Brightness/White filter on the camera to perhaps fix this.
Well I tried that out and a took a pic of the 1862IHC. The color came out a lot better, but I was shaking like a @#$% in church. So I know I will have to go out and pick up a nice small tri-pod and some better lights. I also tried adjusting the sharpness with my Publishing software, which I think I made it worse then it was when I started. I still think it came out better then the bald guy pic though.
The last pic I included is an allright SLQ, I really like the way this pic came out. I believe it is a step in the right direction. Better color and I had a bit of a steadier hand.
Next thing for me to work on is figuring out to make this thing take the picture without me having to push the shutter button, I think that will help. And then find a free place to store my files so they automatically pop up. Or can I make my attachments do this right now.
Once again many many thanks to Fratlaw.
And any help or opions would be appreciated.
Ron

The most important thing --- lighting and white balance. Learn to play with the WB with different lighting. I use a three light set up. Simple desk lamps with GE Reveal bulbs and it seems to work well.
I really like the SLQ. Nice coin and the pic is great as well.
Cute dog BTW.
Enjoy and if you have any questions just drop me a PM
Thanks
Michael
for first attempts, i think the pictures look great, i only wish i could master what you are beginning to learn.
the pup is beautiful-------i like dogs better than coins---------i have never had a coin give me a loving lick on the face.
Hope to see you at Anaheim a few times this year, Fratt....
