Can't really tell much from that scan, looks AU at worst, but it seems to have a funny color. I suspect cleaning.

    HIC!!

Very seriously looks like a bad dipping job....... the engrained 6 O'Clock "stain" may have been the original target and then the whole coin had to be sacrificed.... I've seen tests on british bronzes where varying degrees of lustre are exposed by a million different solutions... Bad coin. No depth to the lustre.

EDIT: did I call that "lustre"? (Hic!)

Lloyd, you're never gonna make it to the new year if you're already doing the "Hic" thing at 9:24 pm your time. image

Almost sobered up then - I thought the historygeek had set a trap and used one of my ebay coins - and I didn't recognize it during the slag off.

    STOP!!! No hijacking! image

Could the strange colour be due to the lighting? The white paper is yellowish too.

Sorry, didn't want Lloyd to throw up in your thread!

Avoid that coin if it is advertised BU.

I kinda like the coin. The major problem I see is someone held it between thumb and finger after eating potato chips.

A big part of the problem could be the camera settings rather than the coin, but I still think it looks funny.
