Franklin Half Dollars are a magnificent example of the elegant craft of coin artistry at it's finest. They deserve a place in history alongside the works of 19th and 18th century master painters. There is no greater tribute to the skill of the US Mint than the Franklin.
My father always said that there's someone for everyone. I personally like the Franklins. It's one of the few coins I can afford in a high grade. I've said it before, buy them now while the prices are reasonable.
The Franklin half dollar is the most butt-ugly, horrid coin produced by the mint in the last 50 years. Maybe the Eunice Shriver coin may be worse, but not by much.
