The first is a 25 øre, not rare or unusual but not in circulation for some years. I just kept this years ago from pockect change.

    It seems to me that 25 ore were many varities , isn't it? BTW, do you know why is so spread -the central hole in small denominations of most Scandinavian coins?

    And second question for you, do you have all 4 Norwegian shipcoins (from 1901 I mean) or som eof them so rare that even at home you can't get them.

    Hi Newbie,

    I dig that 4 skilling! Two questions:
    Are the crossed hammers below the date decorative of a mintmark or mintmaster symbol?
    I thought Norway only became an independent kingdom around 1905 or so. Was Carl XIV Johan a stand alone Norrweigian king or also king of Sweden or Denmark?
