I just got back from the local monthly coin show, where I picked up a couple unidentified, worn, but old-looking coins among a bunch of others. Can anyone help identify?
(1) IDENTIFIED!! Thanks, tbirde56!! The first appears to be a copper 1-centime from what I am guessing is the 1700's? The obverse has a left-facing portrait of a woman with what appears to be the outline of a floppy cap pointed to 12-o'clock. It says "Republique Francaise" on the obverse, with what appear to be 2 different sized stars after the "e" of Francaise at about 5 o'clock, and maybe another or some other design at 6 o'clock. The reverse is very well worn, with what appears to be either a full wreath all around the edge, and I can barely make out "UN" on the top line, followed by what appears to be "CENTIME" (followed by a dot) on the next line. The bottom half of the reverse enclosed by the wreath is worn smooth. Maybe the date went there? It's about 1/2-dollar sized, pretty thick, and also appears to have almost diamond-shaped indentations running at least half-way along the edge.
Any info on this, and possibly a picture and/or website would be greatly appreciated - - I just couldn't pass it up for 10 cents! But I'd love to know more of its history!
(2) IDENTIFIED!! Thanks, newsman! (The second coin is also copper (I believe), slightly larger, and much thinner. Perhaps the size of an Aussie large cent, but much thinner. It appears to be from Portugese Brazil (?), but I can't find a 19th century match in Krause. One side has the motto running clockwise from 2 o'clock: "JOANNES * VI .*. DEI * GRATIA" There is a globe with a shield/coat of arms (?) in the middle with a large crown on top, which separates the start & end of the legend.
The other side is beat up, with at least a single, centered "X". To the sides and below are somewhat scratched-up, so I can't tell if there's anything else or a date there. The "X" is surrounded by a wreath, which is then surrounded along the edge with the motto running clockwise starting at 7 o'clock: " * PORTUGALIAE . BRASILIAE . ET . ALGARB . REX" I can't see any date anywhere.
Any thoughts on this one?
Again, any help/pix/website would be greatly appreciated. Couldn't pass up this fascinating piece at 20 cents!
(3) IDENTIFIED!!! (Spain 25 centimos KM #26.2 - 1857): A right-facing woman's portrait on a copper coin slightly larger than a US quarter. Well-worn. Appears to have a bun in her hair and a "dot" on the bun. Only words I can seem to make out on the obverse are "For Lag De Dios Y La......", or something like that. From 1800? Reverse appears to have a large shield surrounded by illegible words and wreath? Possible variation on a crown at top?
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Right on the money!! The "Brasiliae" threw me! I was actually also able to read the date - - it's KM #356 1819 X (10) Reis.
Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, almost everything on th reverse is worn down to the point where I could barely make out the last "E" in what I thought was "Centime", but may very well be "DECIME".
Thanks for your help! I checked Krause again, but guess the pic & dates must show up in the 18th vs 19th century edition. I'm going to check online for a possible pic.
Thanks again!

Thanks so much for the great info & links! From the pictures, it looks like mine may well be a 1799 "A" vs a 1797, since mine has a dot after the "decime" on the reverse.
Interesting reading!
