Does anyone have an example of or heard of such on modern coins in the 70's or 80's or maybe 90's?

  • Here's what the Cherrypickers' Guide lists:

    1) 1971 (1-O-II) doubling on date, LIBERTY and IGWT
    2) 1971S (1-O-II) very strong doubling on LIBERTY, IGWT and slightly on the date. There is also a RPM on this one (RPM #3)
    3) 1971S (2-O-II + V) extremely strong doubling on LIBERTY, IGWT and a minor RPM
    4) 1984 (2-O-II) doubling on date, LIBERTY and the base of the bust
    5) 1984D (1-O-II + VI) doubling on date and slightly on LIBERTY

    There may be others. image

These are all the Lincolns I specifically have listed at this time that are class 2. The last three are from the years you are asking for. I do have others that I have not yet had the time to list.

Class 2 Lincoln cent doubled dies - 53 different ones found.

There are at least another 100-200 out there that I have not yet cataloged and listed.
