mickeyd415 - do you collect wheats by the pound??? is it 154 pennies / ? I can't remember
are you wanting to be accurate enough for counterfeit detection? so you have a 1916-D Mercury that is supposed to be 2.50 grams and only weighs 2.07 grams - so probably cast something else??
Are you wanting to tell the composition of 1982 cents??
I would guess 95% of the people posting on these boards do not have a scale dedicated to their coins.
One of those small pocket scales that is about the size of a calculator is all you need but make sure it reads down to at least tenth's if not hundredth's in grams and ounces. I think they are about $30-$40 on ebay. mike

I guess it would depend on how many coins you want to weigh.
