Goetz Web Gallery

Hi all, here is my first attempt at creating a web gallery of my Karl Goetz Collection. I know there are many things I would like to do with it but wanted to get something up while I had the time.

Anyway, enjoy!

I love the slide show and the quality of the photos is remarkable: you are to be congratulated!image

Thanks...I wish I wasn't such a perfectionist. I want to reimage a bunch of these to all have the same lighting scheme and the fact that the images are not in sequential order drives me nuts. It was kind of sweet using PS7.0 to create this. All I had to do was create a file with all the images in it and the software did the rest. I have some HTML books on their way to me and I intend on doing a lot of tweaking with the colors. fonts, and format. Thanks!!
  • Really nice material and great photography and display ... I know what you mean about the lighting, do them all the same or do each one as it needs to be lit to show it at its best. When shown as a set as you are doing on the web I would go for the same lighting angles but I still would be tempted to highlight one or two of them.

Quite a display, Goetz was quite an artist.

    I love this design:

Thanks for the effort, I really enjoyed the exhibition!

Yeah, I'll be adding the patterns too but the way I want to set it up I'll probably have to do a lot of tweaking with HTML. I don't want the patterns in the same file as the Cast bronze stuff and it would be nice to have a sub-link that would display this stuff. I know I am looking at a webpage then instead of a simple gallery but that is the direction I need to go. S
  • Scott, Scott, Scott!!!! Way to go my man. That is truely eye candy and is now on my favorites to look at whenever I want . The photography and production values are great. What an opportunity to observe many Goetz medals in a very interesting way.
I have been wanting to be able to compare the various opus (opii?) to one another and see the themes that might repeat in Goetz's style.
    Thanks for sharing image

Thanks Shep...I will eventually have his different production/mindset "periods" broken out (e.g. satirical, WWI, portrait, etc.) and these really need to be in the correct Opus order too to understand and see the changes through time. It's a start...who would have thunk I'd be this far along when I started collecting him last May? image
  • Stunning! This is truly a feast for the eyes. I think the 10 second pause is just the right speed for the visuals alone. I did miss the discriptions which you usually provide and am glad to see that you intend to add them.

    Thank you

  • Don't know how I missed this earlier!! Great job, Scott!! I would like a feature to halt the panning, though.

As I mentioned, this is all canned action that was placed into the gallery by PS7.0 and without any explanation. I can see it in the HTML script but want to do some homework on HTML before I tear into it. Eventually there will just be pages of thumbnails that you can click on to see the large image with the text descriptions.
