1938 "proof" Jeff on eBay -- It is not a proof ...

I bought this coin a few weeks ago and had to return it. It is not a proof, but rather a MS coin, about a 66. The toning is beautiful and original, but the coin is not a proof. I advised the seller it was not a proof and $#^&@*! if he doesn't relist it for sale as a proof again. Anyone looking for a 1938 proof Jeff or attracted by the toning should steer clear ... i guess he figures someone will buy it on his word!! just looking at the pictures it doesn't appear to be a proof and i know with the coin in hand you'd never miss it. tell me, what had you paid for the coin??

Yeah, I feel bad I missed it from the pix, but wasn't sweating it because of the return privilege. It went for $81. I offered to buy it as a nice MS example for a much lower price, but seller was not interested, apparently did not believe I knew what I was talking about ...
