Well, OK, the 1791 Sierra Leone dollar is a "holey", for my vest, but you gotta admit it's got a high coolness-factor even with a hole, thanks to its rarity!
And... well... OK, the Irish "pattern" is actually a modern fantasy, but I liked it, so what the heck. Thought it would look nice in the growing 1901 Victorian collection. (For which I also just won a nice-lookin' slider UNC Indian rupee and a Ceylon piece!)

I find that a bloody huge HOLE in something usually has the proper deterrent effect, too...

Hey, I think the thing goes about $600.00 in Fine in Krause! While it's the more common variety (6 thousand-some minted instead of 800 for the scarcer type), it's still a rare bird anyway you look at it! I had to have it.
A lot of the stuff I am now adding to the vest (and particularly the Holey Gold Hat) is like that- worth some money, even WITH a hole in it! I started out limiting myself to about fifteen bucks a coin, but then I got into the large cent date set on the back of the vest and decided I'd like some holey gold and some colonials, and so on. Now I'm after a Bust dollar. Even holed, those start around $250.00.
